DIY studio recording
In this page, you will find an explanation of the DIY studio that is located at the Spiegel and you will see examples of videos made there. You will learn when to use this studio and how to use this studio. This page is self-study. If any questions come up, do not hesitate to contact your course trainers.
What is the DIY studio?
In the DIY studio in the Spiegel building, you can upload your PowerPoint in Webclip2Go software and record your microlecture with professional camera’s, lights and microphones.
You have multiple formats that you can use in the DIY studio. First, the standard microlecture format is available for you, which embeds you in your powerpoint. You have multiple options for the location you want to be embedded. The first slide, you'll always be located to the right. You can also use the “virtual studio” format, which allows you to have your powerpoint on a virtual screen next to you.
If you want to record something and you want to have a lot of freedom in editing afterwards, you can record yourself in front of the green screen in the DIY studio. In addition to the recording of yourself in front of your PowerPoint, you will receive a separate green screen (‘ISO’) recording. With this ISO, you’ll need to do the post-production editing yourself. Furthermore, it is also an option to connect your iPad and add that as a camera input. Your iPad screen will then be fullsized in the video at the specified slides.
The DIY studio has different formats available. See some examples in the pictures below.
